I think some commit suicide because of incest or abuse from parents or relatives. I have know some who have done so.
I think that one of the reasons we are seeing an increase in teenage suicides is because we are becoming increasingly isolated from other people by the proliferation of media. Texting your friends is not the same as sitting down and having a conversation. Sending an email is not the same as giving a hug. I have known several people, not teens, who took their lives. And several older folks who refused more medical treatment because they did not see the benefit to living longer. It's a pervasive depression that seems to grip them and prevents them from seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. We can make a difference in those lives by showing that we care, even though they might be strangers,
Isolation - No close relationships with friends or family - leading to no hope and escalating to meaninglessness.
I agree with Anonymous who says that media seems to be responsible. I see young folk glued to their phones instead of socializing with those around them. There seems to be nothing quite as comforting as a hug.
ThisOD better kill me!!!!!
